yeah, most people just search on their phones and/or using their browser. they usually use whatever the default is and don’t question it much.

it’s moved off of Google sometimes, and when it hasn’t it’s not obviously labeled as Google. especially when they use siri or ok Google or any other newer interface for it.

problem and solution are not tied together yet. right now we only have the problem. this poster is indicating that they aren’t sold on those being the solutions. there are many paths forward, it’s fair to not know which one is right yet.

hell, it’s more unreasonable to say you KNOW your solution will fix this. none of these economic systems have been successfully tested in large scale. they are all just theoretical. to change to a new one is scary and dangerous and must be done with much thought, consideration, and care.

haven’t been there in years, but i used to walk there a lot. i typically just had to walk on the grass or in the ditch next to the road. then i had to plan my entire route around where i could cross the roads. very very few places to do that, and almost none that were safe.

got harassed by the cops once because i was walking at night with a flashlight in that town. walking is so uncommon there that it’ll get the police called on you.

honestly, I always feel so much more part of the conversation here. on Reddit, unless you time it just right and browse young posts, chances are your comment will never be seen. on here you’ll be one of 50 top level comments at most. and that’s only the biggest threads. it would be nice to see more activity on more threads, but often when i comment on something with no comments it’s enough to start the conversation.

almost none of my comments here get ignored, and the conversations that come out of them feel better. unless it’s about Linux. you people are insane and unapproachable when it comes to operating systems. not because you’re wrong, you’re just… a lot.

lol, America is nearly equal in size to ALL of Europe. they are within 5% of each other.

but there’s so many other ways to change difficulty.

change number of enemies and where they spawn change gear and abilities, the Witcher did that one with how the stamina system worked. it didn’t drain on the lower difficulties. horizon zero dawn made everything in the shops more expensive and made the enemies drop less money. honestly, that one also sucked. only served to make the game grindier.

eh, as a photographer that works weddings, any wedding without a planner is hell for me. i might actually just say no if that’s the case.

if you hire people to work it you should have a person who can be their go to while you are getting married.

if you go for an event like you describe people will be unhappy at the lack of food and leave after not long. if that’s what you want, good for you. go for it. if you want people to stick around and have a good time, you need to feed them. that’s expensive, even if you somehow make it all yourself with food from the farmers market, it’s still going to be over a thousand dollars for most people. again, unless you only invite like five people, but most people care about more than 5 people. throwing a big party of any kind isn’t cheap unless you throw a terrible party.

you don’t have to have a traditional wedding at all though. my sister got married during COVID in her backyard on video call. it was lovely. a big beautiful wedding with lots of people is also lovely and uniquely fun. just don’t let you relatives pressure you into things you don’t want. there’s where it always goes wrong.

i mean… it’s a big game. an hour is definitely not enough time to get the feel of a game like that.

hell I’ve never played it and have no strong feelings for or against it, but saying you quit after an hour is not much more than saying you never tried it at all.

a small tip from someone that has been at this for a while.

watch your highlights when you’re pushing the contrast. you have some very delicate texture and detail in the whites on those plans the you don’t want to lose. try pushing your highlights and shadows separately, if you aren’t, instead of using the contrast slider. that way you can push the shadows down more than you push the highlights up. creating the same amount of contrast while preserving the highlights.

of course, the same can an be said in reverse for shadows. it’s all a balancing act.

loose gunpowder* but yes, gunpowder actually burns very slowly. in fact, we have designed gunpowder to burn slower than old blackpowder from the musket days. it’s the containment and pressure that makes it work in a gun. but it’s also why it’s not uncommon to actually shoot some amount of unburned powder from many guns. a thing that was difficult to know or prove before high speed cameras.
