curious. im running all regular gui software and i usually only go over 8gb when im pushing it harder. the only time i do consistently is while gaming and even then im always below 16gb.

what distro are you running? do you have KSM enabled?

what do you use it for to be filling 8gb on linux?

oh probably, yes. but their heirs and the next 1000 rich assholes would just take their place eventually.

if a few million people in say, the us, decided to try and stop the flow of money upwards… it would essentialy implode the greedy capitalist system that produces these people in the first place.

a few million represents one digit percentage of the population and theres probably more than that willing to act on it. just pick your favorite kind of anarchist or socialist methodology.

i mean of course people will eventually get so mad at ceo types to do things like this.

killing them individually like this won’t fundamentally change things though, even if we get a little schadenfraude.

in addition to this, organize and collectivize that anger and we got ourselves real change.

its great on linux (regular distro, not particularly lightweight) and reasonable on windows 10 for me.

unless you are pushing too many tabs and/or many heavy programs

im forced to use it at work and holy shit. 11 is so heavy for no reason, 8gb of ram is not remotely enough anymore, even if you yank out some of the garbage. theres no apparent change in functionality to justify it.

the ssd smart says its almost at its end, and i suspect its because its constantly swapping. paging file is always full, unless i set it to something big like 8+ gb

the friends i have who game either cant afford it anymore, or are playing things rocket league and fortnite and gacha games for multiplayer now. 😫

i will definetly check the book out when im not as pressed for time (and tired as fuck), its not the first time i hear of it. hopefully it clicks for me and hopefully its as helpful as you say.

i think my anxiety comes from not doing enough of the stuff i want to do instead, at least nowadays. ive found cool normies to hang out with throughout the years sometimes, but ive always had a feeling that more than half of my friends were neurodivergent in a way or another. not necessarily the same as me, but looking back they were much better and more trustworthy people than average, thats for sure. i do feel dumber sometimes, its hard to participate effectively when you are juggling many thoughts.

we can be friends if you dont mind that i scrapped most forms of social media from my life, and communicate with messengers mostly. you seem like a good person.

people want to play with friends, and with gaming getting lonelier, i think people are seeking the parasocial relationships on streaming sites.
