I don’t know if you saw my comment, but yes. ERCOT has to answer to the PUCT and Texas Congress. It’s a pain in the ass to get anything done and worse if they have to contract out, which is the case a lot of the time.

ERCOT has to answer to not only their BoD, but the PUCT, and the Texas Congress. Anything they want to do, has to be approved. But nobody wants to raise funds to expand infrastructure by raising taxes, or rates. Not to mention, their regulator, PUCT, refuses to do jack as far as winterization and grid expansion. Also, the board of PUCT is only appointed by the Governor. This means that appointments change with new Governors which highlights the needs for a new Governor in Texas. Its funny that the Co-ops outside of ERCOT hardly experience any issues. The regulation that goes on is almost nonexistent because of PUCT and Texan Congress.
It’s an actual nightmare to try get any design work done for them because of all of the meetings you have to have with PUCT and ERCOT. They are the worst to do contract work for and people hate working with them. T-Line design sucks for them and forget about Substation design.
It is an asinine system they have set up, and it seems they refuse to change. The growth of the market has been known for YEARS. This is not news. They’re just making it news to place blame. What a bunch of idiots.
Alito gotta raise his reputation points after the leaks and flag debacle.
I don’t remember, but nuclear is the highest operating cost of electricity, until the reactor is paid off by rates, in which it becomes very cheap. Natural gas is the cheapest starting and maintaining and is reaching better efficiencies. However, it’s killing the environment.
There’s a lot of folks out there with tons of money that give plenty and won’t get anywhere close to poverty. Trump has a tectonic donor base that has money.
In what world is DFO used for disconnects for solar? That’s like the dumbest, overtly cautious thing to do.
Which was weird because there’s so much sexual tension between them, it felt like incest lmao
A kicker in American Football, who recently gave a speech at a Catholic College and said women will find more joy and fulfillment from being a stay at home mom than in a career.
I’d rather spend $1000 on an induction than $500 for an inferior electric coil range. But either way, this has spurred me to save up money for an induction stove, so I can have a similar cooking experience to gas.
Very red currently, but it doesn’t help that only ~60% of people vote in the general. Worse for primaries and midterms.
This isn’t that big of an issue, but another one is that I have to replace almost all of my cookware because it’s not induction compatible.
I’ve rarely needed to cook for my family of four in the event of an outage. I also have family nearby to head to in that case.
There’s a Fridgidare that costs ~$1000. So, if I’m gonna spend a few hundred, I might as well get that and make payments.
Alas, I live in the South where natty gas rebates roam wild.
It’s not bullshit, and this has been known for quite some time.
Edit: its been known that pollutants are emitted from gas stoves and ovens and those contribute to cancer and other things.
What sucks, is I can’t afford a comparable induction range that cooks as well, and quickly, as gas. Unless I can get some sort of rebate, buying a new range is out of the question.
insert shocked pikachu here I mean, is this really surprising? That place was a cesspool disguising as irony. But news flash, it stops being ironic after a certain amount of time.
It’s a fantastic virtue signal. They can submit a bill, they know won’t pass because of how obtuse and vague it is. They are wasting time for performative gestures to rile up their voter base.
I agree, although, the pessimist in me says the Oil companies will find a way to kill it somehow.
I thought for sure the skit was going to be this,
