  • usually an unscented body wash (for the fall though, i’ve been using a bath and body works pumpkin cake scented body wash. the unscented soap is good for making sure there isn’t too many scents going on and i’ve been healing several tattoos at the same time currently so i just use unscented all over). a body lotion after showering can be really nice too and will last a while. secret clinical strength gel deodorant, and a little fragrance mist or perfume. in the warmer months i use a floral one, hummingbird by the zoologist (expensive indie fragrance so i just live off samples), and in the colder months, a cheap vanilla bourbon body mist from target.

  • for right wingers these books are almost entirely for show and seldom read. having them is less about extracting knowledge from them but about the status symbol of having a trump or liz cheney or ted cruz book or showing off your opinions with these visual capsules of ideology. there isn’t anything in that book worth reading and they know that, it’s just about sending money to your favorite right wing grifter and then getting a little display piece out of it.

also the big chain bookstores are only shelving these books because they’re acceptable opinions in this fascist society. if they shelved lenin for instance i’m sure they’d get blasted by chud media for a week. many smaller independent bookstores will often have marxist stuff or, at the very least, some relatively left leaning authors.

  • if it were true that one can easily just transition and go play in the female league of a sport and immediately dominate, why aren’t all of the worlds biggest and most successful athletes trans women? if experiencing a “male” puberty makes a trans woman inherently stronger than any cis woman out there, why has only one open trans woman competed in the olympics ever (where she unfortunately did not place in the top three)? if it were as easy as the right makes it sound, you’d think we’d dominate every category effortlessly but you just don’t see that. the opposition to trans women in sports relies completely on a fantasy.

  • i joined under the guise of what you talked about, the “less problematic than PSL” thing. now it seems like its much too small to have any significant drama or discourse that would produce problematic takes, and also that it seems to be less centralized in general so its very chapter-dependent for problematic-ness (?). maybe it is very centralized though and i just didn’t know it, they’ve got their cadre members that do the actual stuff and their general members that just kinda fill seats and i was only a general member despite the cadre people frequently inviting me to also become cadre but it’s a massive time commitment apparently.

  • i was a member of my local chapter for a brief period before i learned that one of the leaders was a horrible person and the rest of the leaders were covering it up for him, so i left. thats chapter specific, but just a reminder that these problems still exist in some chapters. despite it being significantly smaller than PSL, i liked the people more. it seemed like more people actually had read theory. however it was a very white, cis, and straight group from what i could tell. there were also very few women and fem-presenting folks in general, at their social events i was one of maybe three. this did lead to a kinda dude-bro-y environment that wasn’t incredibly toxic, but i just don’t enjoy that kind of atmosphere myself and if you don’t, be warned. their events are great though. sorry i can’t say more, it was a really brief stint. there just isnt a lot to say about them in general though because they’re really small. they do have some really cool members though, i met some who participated in the chicano movement of the 60s-70s.
