The R.N.C. says it has recruited tens of thousands of volunteers to observe the voting process at precincts across the country. Their accounts of alleged fraud could, as one Trump campaign official put it, “establish the battlefield” for after November 5th.
If all they wanted to do is watch and see how things are done to make sure nobody is trying to illegally change the results, I would have no problem with it. But they’re coming in with the preconceptions that massive fraud is already occurring and that they have to find and stop it by any means necessary. That scares the crap out of me because my elderly parents volunteer for our state elections board. They’re in the counting rooms and going to drop boxes to collect ballots. They can’t do that without officers to escort them now because these whack jobs are showing up armed to “watch”.
