Is that oil?” “Listen don’t worry about that, dawn soap cuts through all sorts of oil” “But don’t ducks need to have a thin coat of their natural oil on their feathers to protect them from the elements?” “Let’s change the subject, we have to dry this duck, and for that, we’ll turn to the Quicker Picker Upper…”

It’s more that being completely covered in crude oil is very bad for you because it’s crude oil, and just washing it off doesn’t fix the issue.
Came here to say something like this…

Ducks losing their natural oil isn’t the issue here. They can get that back pretty easily.
