Summary

A leaked USAID memo warns employees not to discuss disruptions in humanitarian aid caused by Trump and Musk’s funding freeze, threatening dismissal.

The memo insists aid has continued uninterrupted, but this is “highly disingenuous at best and mostly nonsense at worst.”

The New York Times reports that USAID officials were told to delay aid approvals, and while a waiver allowed some assistance to continue, serious obstacles remain.

Trump fired USAID’s inspector general after a report revealed $500 million in food aid was at risk.

Forget Watergate. This is a catastrophe of far greater magnitude, and for justice to be done, backroom deals like the one Jerry Ford brokered aren’t going to cut it. Qaddafi, Ceasescu, Saddam, those are end games to study.

Watergate only happened because a majority of Americans heard about it and were rightfully pissed. Then the Koch Brothers and Murdoch came to end that.

And when the chickens come home to roost, remember those names, and those who enabled them.

I just listened to the Behind the Bastards episode of Rush Limbaugh and you draw a direct line from Watergate and Nixon to Trump.

Republicans saw the fairness doctrine to be the main reason so much of their base trusted the news. Reagan got rid of it and the post-fact reality was forged.
