Most just don’t skip them, as you can plead with the judge for a lighter sentence or just say random shit you want without most trial rules applying.

Actually, any defendant in criminal proceedings can refuse to show up to sentencing. Most just don’t skip them, as you can plead with the judge for a lighter sentence or just say random shit you want without most trial rules applying.
