Microsoft's Digital Crimes Unit seized multiple domains used by a Vietnam-based cybercrime group (Storm-1152) that registered over 750 million fraudulent accounts and raked in millions of dollars by selling them online to other cybercriminals.
I skimmed it, and it doesn’t say that Microsoft has the authority to seize domains, but that the government ordered the registrar to hand over the domain to Microsoft, that means that the government seized the domain, then handed it over to Microsoft.
Ok it is good that scammers are taken down, but I wonder…
