The problem is that without an effective way to ID bot content in this count then stats like this could covering up the real trends in human users, particularly in any stat that purports to measure all lemmy instances since we already know there are instances out there filled with thousands of bot users
And when comments are measured, you can say ‘but it’s just a small group making lots of comments’.
And when users are measured, you can say ‘but they’re just lurkers’.
Etc, etc. You can always naysay everything. This is impressive growth.
