Yeah, in the states, “liberal”, “left-wing”, “Democrat”, and “progressive” all mean pretty much the same thing.
And their opposite number are “right-wing”, “Republican”, or “conservative”.
Our system kinda sucks TBH and I feel like most people are sick of both parties but just vote for whoever they feel is the lesser evil since the system is rigged. Literally… they make it a pain for 3rd party to even get a spot at the televised presidential debates, so it’s been between the same 2 parties for several generations.
