Why do people here really not like Trotskyists? Is it just because of his beef with Stalin and not an actual criticism of his views? Do people really not think a global movement would be superior for the betterment of all people?

Edit: Thank you to everyone who provided context and history, y’all are a wealth of knowledge.

Well, naturally those of them who condemn Stalinist crimes are unpopular among Stalinists, but this is not the only reason, I think.

The problem with Trotsky’s ideology is that it’s been tried, it’s basically “war communism” which ruined the country so much that it needed NEP. Of course, a bit refined and more peaceful and humane, but the architecture is the same and Trotskyists pretend that with modern technologies it’ll be more effective.

That is, some kind of levee-en-masse democratic economy. Just organize everyone into collectives, those collectives elect councils, those councils elect next level councils, and so on, and on the top there’s a council. There may be some separation between councils responsible for different things. Ah, and on top of a council there’s some person elected by it.

It’s actually oak-dumb literal Soviet system, not what USSR had as a formality, but for real without any supporting bureaucracy and ministries.

It also ignores the fact that you need expertise to make decisions.
