Widened my search even more this past weekend, and it seems like it paid off! Another tech job, but one that I could temporarily get behind until I’m back on my feet. Just a phone interview, but gonna go read over the description so I know what to hammer on.
EVERYONE GIVE THEM YOUR ENERGY!
my vibes:
Sending karma meow
good luck!!
If they ask you if you have any questions for them at the end of the interview, ask how they feel your skillset would best be utilized in the context of the company.
Got it from some twitch steamer but it makes them think of you as if you’re already hired and gives you a better chance of being chosen over someone else
I always like to ask “what do you like best about working here, and whats something you think [place] could be better about?”
I’ll add that one to the list! Tomorrow is just a first interview, a potential round 2 seems the better time to ask that since it’d be directly talking to the team
You got this!
From one dog on a computer to another, good luck and massive positive (pawsitive? sorry) vibes to you, comrade!
I love your usernames!
now kiss
What do you think we are? Just lapdogs here to perform for you?!
You got this!
My little tips: Look up the company: try understand its business, look up its share price, see if they have a press/news/blog section for any recent contracts they may have won etc.
Read the JD to pick out all the skills/values for STAR style answers e.g. if they say “must have great communication skills” make sure you have an example of when you used communication skills to solve a problem, explain why the problem was hard to solve, and the impacts of you solving it.
Think up 2 good questions! Not wages or holiday pay or whatever, but something relevant to the job/company. I like to ask about workplace culture and things.
I wouldn’t discuss wages at the interview unless prompted, I’d do that down the line, but make sure you know your worth, and go a bit high to negotiate down to what you’d be happy with, if they do bring it up in the interview.
Otherwise best of luck comrade! Work hard on the interview. Get the job. Then slack off immediately, do the bare minimum at work to get by!

Can confirm this is a good idea

Reading the description, and everything else on them you can, is a pro move.
Was just pleasantly surprised by the salary range being higher than what I originally saw posted, so thats nice!
Just sent in a resume hoping to leave my current job that I hate.
Sending vibes and solidarity!
Chew gum during the interview to assert dominance.
On it!
