Why is there a hole in the brick?
Aerodynamics
Concrete too espensib
It looks like a tasty new flavor of PEZ that has been through some tough times.
Where straight brick?
I believe the idea is that you are supposed to distribute these bricks to deserving straight people.
An ironically poignant post in this era of social media where people allow themselves a back pat for posting something and then thinking their activism is complete.
If you’re doing anything remotely approaching activism with a brick, don’t post about it online. Being that sloppy is for War Thunder forum posters.
That’s…not what that comment meant.
I’m saying that you don’t see people posting about their brick-adjacent activism because it’s a terrible fucking idea to post about it.
And I never said post about it. This is kinda the problem I’m talking about. Social media is so entwined with “activism” these days that so-called activism is nothing more than Coachella to some people: if they go, it’s mostly to post about it. I’m saying do it, dont post about it. Am I being unclear? I don’t understand this miscommunication.
Maybe I’m being unclear, I’m saying it’s not possible to know who is doing brick-adjacent activism if they’re not posting about it and you’re not there to see it.
Maybe I’m being unclear, I’m trying to say that the amount of people making political statements about X problem or Y issue on social media dwarfs the amount of activism. It’s not at all a new fact that social media activism has largely replaced activism. My argument is that people consider their work done when they make a post. It’s like a scheduled, permitted weekend march that largely gets over-documented on social media and used for clout/profile building. It’s a real problem. I’m not calling anyone here anything, I was making the point that posting on “aboringdystopia” about activism that largely doesn’t happen anymore was ironic because of this problem of social media posturing replacing effective activism.
