A large part of creating art is the process though.

Goes more so for the more physical art forms like traditional painting, sculpting and so on where you have a physical medium that will shape your working process. But even in digital art I feel like you should go through and iterate and let the process shape how the end piece comes out.

Having a program just like translate your brain impulse into a picture feels kinda hollow… it’s definitely better than image generators but still, there’s a part missing.

      like 60%

If you’re going to throw out random/arbitary bars like this we can’t have a serious discussion.

I didn’t build my cameras. Or write the software. Or construct the lenses. I didn’t do 60% of the work that goes into my shooting video.

See how arbitrary this all is?

Yeah if you’re going to be just throwing out pointless nitpicks instead of addressing any actual points, it probably won’t.

It’s not a pointless nitpick. They are establishing where the line is between “my work” and “not my work” and he said 60% because it’s the first thing their gut told them. How is that nitpicky to point out? I mean come on you can’t be serious. It’s literally the starting point of the discussion. We can’t move forward without it and “60%” tells us nothing.

We can’t move forward because you got lazy and decided to harp on a detail that was only included for illustration.

The main point that was made in that paragraph was that the process of making the art itself is a large part, going towards majority of the art itself.

It’s like me going “We can’t continue this conversation as you used “he” to refer to the OP, how do you know they are a man?”

It’s completely pointless, you are being lazy, but I wouldn’t expect anyone who has the mindset of “Oh I could do so much cool stuff if I just didn’t have to put any effort into it.” to do any better.
