A United Nations agency said it has discovered five bombs in a wall of Mosul’s iconic Al-Nuri mosque, planted years ago by Islamic State group jihadists, during restoration work in the northern Iraqi city.

Article doesn’t say why they weren’t exploded, only that a wall was rebuilt to hide them.

(Sarcastically) “Oh yeah I like it that, we take out a bunch of Muslims because they’re the real enemy! Once we’ve done that why don’t we truck-bomb a kebab shop, fly a jumbo jet into Wadge’s mum, and staple a pig to our foreheads!”
