Ok, I might get fucking wrecked for this, but I hate tipping because I get treated like absolute shit by servers. I tip 20% anyways.
What I don’t get is why so many people think it’s so fucking absurd to tip baristas or BK drive through cashiers when they’re literally making you fucking drinks/food AND ringing you up?

Servers specifically get paid like $2.50 an hour because tips are “expected” though. I’ve seen a huge uptick in being treated like shit by server, fast food workers, and everyone generally. Like they’re reacting to an expected shitty attitude from me. It sucks because I’m always excellent to service workers, and was even before I had a service job, which was pre-covid when I noticed this change. Probably started when having to kick out anti maskers.

This is just a large portion of restaurant goers. When McDonalds and Starbucks say they are an experience brand they mean the experience people want is being able to complain about the quality and then get a little racial with it in the dining area 5 feet away afterward.

I remember being in a gaming vent many years ago for an MMO (Everquest, all my terrible bigot tales are from EQ and even playing that warrants this bad post imo) and one of the fuckers on there was so racist he recounted a tale that haunts me still, that if he saw even 1 minority worker at a fastfood restaurant he wouldn’t go in because he claimed they’d poison his food and some racial supremacy nonsense, worst yet he was actively teaching his then children to be just as bigoted as he and his wife (you could hear his wife yelling at his poor kids all the time). He threw down the gamer word all the time, thankfully he did nothing important so easy mute.
