Not even ad tiers are safe as Disney looks to coax people into bundle packages.

Lucky you, I’ve had to swap VPN providers on multiple occasions due to them dropping support for Port forwarding, which in turn breaks your ability to use it for torrenting

Are these people stupid? Their competition is literally free and improving all the time.

If you are having trouble affording these services please check out jellyfin.

Well, not free per se, DVDs and Blurays and the computer in my closet I use to host Jellyfin for the rest of the home do cost money… But they sure as hell can’t jack up the price after the fact. Quite the contrary; the hardware needed for it is getting cheaper over time. I can also use it even when the internet is down.

They are shooting themselves in the foot. Meanwhile Blurays can be had for cheap

Once a service introduces a sub + ad tier it’s over and obvious they are just as greedy as cable TV and racing down the same path. I can’t support that. Mostly sticking to physical media these days but still have a couple streams that are sub only no ads or ads without any subscription.

My tier won’t change so that’s nice. But I see now that they’ve created new bundles since I changed my plan that don’t force me to have ESPN, so if I don’t just decide to cancel outright - I actually can save $5/mo.
