The only one who is winning here is Trump — because he just keeps doing it and all he gets is a stern warning from the artists. Even if they sue, it’s not like he will pay them. They could possibly sue the RNC, but without the label or RIAA behind them, it would just be dragged out in court for years.
all he gets is a stern warning from the artists.
Not true. He also gets a bunch of free publicity, and keeps his victim complex front and center for his followers.
They really cant sue if he pays the licencing fee but its still bad for Trump when a popular recording artist says “Hey, we think your an asshole too” its just bad press.
Bad press has not worked to deter Trump or his success so far.
Its drops in a bucket, but it all adds up.
Oh yeah? He won in 2020?
You know what I mean. 2016 was nothing but bad press and horror stories. I’m not sure bad press is what we can rely on here to protect another election.
FWIW, he probably would have had it not been for covid-19.
All publicity is good publicity.
I suppose they could make anti-Trump songs—perhaps variations of their more popular songs—though I suppose the record companies wouldn’t allow it.
Shouldn’t Bruce Springsteen be on this list too?
And Jack White
Stop telling and start suing.
Madonna had to show up unannounced to one of their houses and beg to get the green light for the sample in hung up. While I really enjoy the growing list of artists telling trump to kick rocks, ABBA is not at all surprising.
Yes, but Prince is most surprising seeing as he’s. It alive…
It’s his estate.
What a great artist list if you want to listen to some good tunes. Also Tenacious D I think should also be on the list with Kyle’s birthday joke
The brass neck to be a politician and to un-ironically use Rage Against The Machine at your rallies lmao
Hes got kid rock on his team tho
He can keep kid rock
