Last sentence of the article
Of the most famous oversize rap stars of the 1990s, including Big Punisher, only Fat Joe survives.
fat Joe is just Joe now, he lost Hella weight.
I saw him do an interview and he talked about it. It was Pun dying of obesity related natural causes that shook him up. Paraphrasing but “I knew plenty of ni**as who died young, but he was the first one just because he was fat. That shit scared me.”
Saw him on family feud of all places and he is indeed not fat anymore. Still goes by fat Joe though I believe.
Damn. That’s really sad news. Hope his family is doing okay.
Didn’t he lose a bunch of weight? I wonder if that was related.
Maybe, other articles seem to have more recent photos where he doesn’t look so crazy fat.
if you’re “plump” and all of a sudden start exercising a lot, your increased blood flow could knock a chunk of cholesterol loose from your artery wall, where it was previously just chilling. the glob of loose solid matter travels up to your brain, causes a blockage, and that’s it
So how do fat people lose weight and not have that happen?
Also by not trying to lose weight primarily through physical activity. Someone who has been morbidly obese for a very long time has basically placed their organs (and joints and tendons)under seige for an extended period. It’s not like you can suddenly take that type of person’s heart and suddenly subject it to strenuous exercise without increased risk of problems.
Weight loss happens in the kitchen not the gym.
If I understand right, the odds are still better for folks who are more active - it’s just tragic lousy luck, if it’s what happened.
Lose it slowly. 1-3 lbs a week. Listen to your body. Probably have a doctor that can do some blood work to help get your cholesterol levels under control before you go too crazy into it.
