Former president repeats false claims that immigrants in Ohio were eating pets

Donald Trumpā€™s false claim that immigrants inĀ OhioĀ are abducting pets and eating themĀ during Tuesdayā€™s presidential debateĀ was quickly slapped down by ABC News moderator David Muir.

WhileĀ on the debate stage in Philadelphia, the former president asserted thatĀ Haitian immigrants in Springfield, Ohio were ā€œeating dogsā€Ā and ā€œeating the catsā€ while pushing his anti-immigration policies.

ā€œWhat they have done to our country by allowing these millions and millions of people to come into our country and look at whatā€™s happening to the towns all over the United States,ā€ the former president said.

ā€œIn Springfield, theyā€™re eating the dogs. The people that came in. Theyā€™re eating the cats. Theyā€™re eating ā€“ theyā€™re eating the pets of the people that live there. And this is whatā€™s happening in our country, and itā€™s a shame,ā€ the former president claimed.

As he spoke, Harris looked in disbelief at the former president before laughing.

ā€œGiven sufficient force, pigs can fly just fineā€

Weā€™ll soon see what it looks like when billions of dollars of force are applied to propelling a thoroughly unaerodynamic pig into the air.

Ehhh, people donā€™t take kindly to assertions regarding animals/pets. Itā€™s not the same, but look how quickly everyone, including Republicans, turned on Kristi Noem after she doubled down on shooting her own dog.

Yeah, heā€™ll rile up some of his base in Ohio and theyā€™ll start taking precautions to protect their animals, but the majority of pet owners arenā€™t going to buy this, and theyā€™ll hopefully condemn him for not only the outright lies, but the xenophobia/racism embroiled with it.
