As someone who grew up in the US, I remember having a realization one day that I wasn’t ever going to kill anyone. That killing someone was just not a realistic thing to expect to happen at some point. I was in my early 20s lol. This country so ingrains the expectation and necessity of violent interaction. For real. It was such a weird moment realizing that my entire life and childhood up to that point was putting this idea in my head.
This is why I think it’s so funny that the guys at the gun range laugh at me using plain old bullseye targets for practice
