A man convicted of a 1997 murder died by lethal injection Friday in the southeastern US state of South Carolina, the state’s first death row inmate executed in 13 years.

As a reminder, the testimonies against this guy turned out to be false or coerced, and when he tried to recently appeal the supreme Court denied it, and upon asking for a pardon, the governor decided to wait until the last moment to deny it.
