The polls shows that people like republicans. Kamala should try to be more like a republican to win back voters.

Here is what she should do to make swing state voters like her more:

    • Pressure “Israel” to be more genocidal. Make aid conditional on kill quotas.
    • Negative taxes for oligarchs but only the evil ones
    • A nuke for every police department. Cops have the right to defend themselves
    • Castle doctrine for Zybertrukkk owners against bicycles
    • A programme promoting bullying in schools to teach children to “toughen up”
    • Make it illegal to hurt fascists’ feelings

I hate triangulators I hate triangulators I hate triangulators.

      danish politics.

Socialdemokratiet (The socialdemocratic party) stole a bunch of voters from Dansk Folkeparti (Danish peoples party and by Danish we mean wink wink) by being as racist as them.
The point of doing that was to prevent dansk Folkeparti from getting into government, which would be bad because they had racist politics.
Insert meme where Spongebob and Patrick, labeled as SOCIALDEMOKRATER, stand in the middle of a burning city exclaiming “we did it Patrick, we stopped the racists from getting into government!” :::

Wow how did all these bigots get into government? Oh well no time to think about that, we have to do austerity otherwise the right-wing will get elected and they might do austerity!

blob-no-thoughts Boy I sure am glad to be a succdem in government, because I am ideologically socialdemocratic then that logically means my policies are as well. Anyway gotta cut funding to schools and give americans some military bases

And in the process the succdems forgot why the Danish People’s Party was bad in the first place and became just as racist as them. There’s no sign any more of “if they get in they will do bad stuff”, it’s just “they’re taking our phoney baloney jobs and we want them back”

Yeah and the weird thing is everyone who was against it said that that is exactly would happen and even as it was happening they were told they were hyperbolic/alarmist by the socialdemocrats.
Now it seems like no one even remembers it happened at all. Real “we’ve always been at war with Oceania” type shit.

Edit: and they’d probably be down with making a coalition government with them

The only thing missing is there needs to be more emphasis on brat. A Kamala win is a win for women. Slay kween. It’s all about identity!

Anyone who worked on Clinton’s campaign should have been chased out of politics completely. There’s no reason she should have lost to Trump, yet she did due to entitlement and hubris. Any Clinton staffer who came to me for a job on Biden’s or Harris’ (or even some fucking city treasurer in a town of 500 people) campaign would immediately been told to fuck off and go get a job in another industry.

Does thread think the Dems (and even Republicans, why not) target’ is to only be ever ~51% popularity, as in deliberately keeping parity between wings in order to maintain plausibility of legitimate govt inaction?

Or is it just a consequence of their extremely similar platforms?

Do you get what I’m trying to say? Is it a feature or a “happy” outcome they simply exploit?

I think a large group of Dems actually buy into the triangulator bs that you see in most "left"wing parties (quotations because they’re not, but you know what I mean.) I don’t know if the leaders buy into it, I know there’s some insidious psy-op at the root of it, meant to kneecap any leftist political party, but I think a very large group actually believes the “aw shucks we really do want to do universal healthcare, but we gotta be more rightwing to get into government.”
These people never interrogate the validity of the claim, let alone the belief that a politicians task is to get elected.
You’ll see this tendency whenever you ask about doing any actual popular policy. “It’s more nuanced than that…” “We gotta be bi-partisan…” “We want to be able to get elected…” “We don’t want to scare away voters…” “We gotta be realistic…”
Like with the decline of US intelligence agencies I think we are now seeing a generation of people who actually believe the propaganda.

Yeah the US managed to maintain the separation of propagandized workers and rational imperialist intelligence state mandarins for like…a generation or two, and now everyone just has the same internet brain damage.

The people with money, the folks politicians actually work for, are likely to be more politically similar than different. Both parties are playing towards their true base.

The primaries are over so neither candidate needs to spend too much time paying lip service to the unwashed masses.

So, why not both “feature” AND “happy outcome”?

It’s effectively a feature, but the amount of intentionality is grey, I think bourgeois democracy initially fell into this happy outcome, and it’s a natural balance that occurs from them acting in self-interest, but it is also maintained actively with laws, culture wars, etc.

Which party people vote for seems to entirely depend on “the other guy is worse”, so if both parties do terribly for people when they get in government (and they will because they serve the bourgeois class) then people will always vote for the “only other choice” and voteshame third partyers.

Rinse and repeat and the balance will stay forever around the 50% point while conditions worsen and people remain under the illusion they have a choice.

I feel like Biden dropping out almost immediately after Trump almost got domed displays a certain degree of intentionality. Trump was going to run away with it at that point and I dont think they want either party having too much political power. Somebody might try to do something with it if that were the case

Maybe they don’t, but why go for the knock-off when you can have the real deal?

Video game companies learn this lesson once every [popular franchise] cycle, but politicians never do. Legends say they will learn it when movie studios do

chuds don’t like the centrist neocons, they call them Republicans In Name Only (RINOs). The type of Republican Kamala will appoint is basically already a democrat to them, this just further proves there’s no difference between neolibs and neocons

          Seems like there’s a centrist 10%, a left liberal 30% & a hooting chud 30%

          The remaining 30% are apathetic/checked out/leftwing

Kamala’s strategy is to go after that centrist 10% while abandoning the left liberals and apathetic. That’s why Democrats punch so hard left constantly, they are paranoid about losing their left flank to apathy and they need to whip up fear of “Trump is a fascist” to try and discipline them

Yeah I think she thinks she’s just guaranteed the left liberal vote for being on the supportive side of fascism instead of the active participant side.

And Harris sees her dropping numbers as the centrists wavering but I wouldn’t be surprised if that left/burntout apathy crowd isn’t growing. The whipping is getting more violent and feverish.
