This content and this system, Meta said, has led to an 8 percent increase in time spent on Facebook and a 6 percent increase in time spent on Instagram, all at the expense of a shared reality and human connections to other humans.

It’s certainly has the opposite effect on me. I used to spend a lot of time on Facebook in my younger days. That has been steadily declining over the years, especially the past 6-7, but even more the last year or two. I’ll open it up, see nothing from people I know right off the bat, and close it again. For a while they also stopped letting me scroll until it played an ad; that really helped me break out of a doomscroll since I’d just close the app.

I see this as a benefit to me in helping me not waste time there.

I heavily curated my fb feed and only saw exactly what i wanted to see. Last year or two years ago they started pushing trash into my feed via algorithm and it pisses me off.
So now I don’t hang out there.

It’s just a small change from suggesting words to suggesting sentences suggestions, and people look like somebody took their universe. Wake up - 90% of you are already clicking on word suggestions from your phone keyboards, and sentence suggestions are just sight expansion. At least 70% of us are programmed corporate generated puppies. Technology already won, people got betrayed for robots. Drones are more dangerous than tanks and planes. We got space satelitte network and big server magazines gathering all our moves 24/7. Last step is just ahead of us - robots with hands in our houses that can execute order 66 and choke us all to death.
