minus-squareFlying Squid@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up6arrow-down1·11 hours agoYou do know that using inflation as a sole metric to determine how well an economy is doing is silly, yes?

minus-squareDeceptichum@quokk.aulinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up11arrow-down3·14 hours agoMate it was 2.5% in 2022. It only jumped to 25% after he took office.
minus-squareShardikprime@lemmy.worldOPlinkfedilinkarrow-up3arrow-down1·4 hours agoAnd between 2022 and 2023 how much?
minus-squareDeceptichum@quokk.aulinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up1arrow-down1·2 hours agoWent up a few percent to 8pct the month before he was elected, and flew up to 25.5% the month after he was elected. Before 2022, it hadn’t been above 6% in nearly a decade. This wasn’t a problem only Milei could solve that no one else had; this was a problem caused by Milei that didn’t exist before him.
minus-squareShardikprime@lemmy.worldOPlinkfedilinkarrow-up1·42 minutes agoCare to tells us what was low about the 211% yearly inflation on 2023 and how we are in a worst situation now with 107% inflation yearly? While you are at that, prove that black is white and 2+2 equals fish
minus-squareCheradenine@sh.itjust.workslinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up6·14 hours agoThat’s for last month. Let’s see how the yearly comes out.
minus-squareShardikprime@lemmy.worldOPlinkfedilinkarrow-up1·42 minutes agoWe are up to 107% for now. That’s great considering last year’s
minus-squareGissaMittJobb@lemmy.mllinkfedilinkarrow-up4arrow-down1·13 hours agoStopping your finger from bleeding by cutting off the entire arm is not a particularly good plan. Sure, inflation is down, but the absolute condition for the average argentinian is not strictly speaking great. It’s clear that some form of change to stop the runaway inflation was needed, but this was not the way to go
