The spindly design makes it seem too weak to support itself, which implies there must be future materials technology keeping it together, or force fields or something, tech beyond the federation’s current understanding.
I think it looks pretty appropriate for what it’s supposed to be.
Maybe in the far future everyone loses the concept of artist value.
To be fair art from a thousand years ago looks very different.
That was literally the point.
Make it thin, spindly, fragile looking, because the implication is that it’s much stronger than current-Gen, and the materials to build it are more advanced.
