I much prefer rounded corners. Also the big one is too big and the normal one is too small. Nice try Tim Apple. 🍏

Meh, without even jumping into either side on this one, all I gotta say is this…

They really need to start making phones flat again, where they can actually lay flat on a table without a case because of a stupid protruding camera assembly.

Better yet, a case shouldn’t have to be an additional accessory, and phones shouldn’t be built like eggshells. The shell of the device itself should be reasonably rugged out of the box. Phones end up more likely to overheat when you put a case/cover on them, as if engineers don’t even consider this when they design phones anymore.

Yeah holy shit the camera bump making the bloody thing wobble all over the place when you put it down is just bad design imo

I want the whole edge to be rounded. The tiniest rounded corner and then a straight slab side doesn’t count.

It doesn’t matter if I buy it or not it will still look shit

Edit: also you are wrong rounded edges are much nicer and more successful

Shape of object is important. Perceived ideals of physical attraction are important. Corporate ability to shape narrative is important. iPhone is culturally important.

Also it’s called !unpopularopinion not !veryimportantopinion

It’s deliberately mild and unimportant because that’s mildly amusing and not stressful, and everyone is way too stressed atm x

Haven’t been keeping up with iPhones (Android user here). Which iPhone you like, and which one you don’t? Just want to search the images to get what you’re saying.

I like the original iPhone X, the iPhone 11, and the iPhone XR. All of these had somewhat rounded sides.

      I don’t like the iPhone 4, or the more recent iPhones 12, 13, 14, and now 15

Ah, I see what you mean now. I have to say, I do prefer the square sides. Wife has a nothing Phone 1 and I really like how it looks and feels.

I’m of the opposite opinion. The square corners look 1000x better and are easier to hold. Also I love my 14 Max and the size of it. Great for watching YouTube or other media on.

That’s not unpopular at all. Afaik most people like ugly rounded corners over square corners. But I would say that’s fine if only Apple devices would be like that.

And then perhaps it would be sensible and also convenient to have a case around that phone, in case you drop it

They are switching between round/square design every few years to look different than previous generation. Which sells products better. Most loyal people will think its new unique design.

I have no fucking idea what anyone in this thread is talking about. The iPhone has and has always had rounded corners. Fucking everyone phone has round corners. The only phones I can even think of that didn’t have rounded corners were a Windows phone from like a decade ago and the LG V30 that nobody bought.

What are they talking about anyone know?

The device is three-dimensional. They’re talking about how the sides of the device are flat planes that are exactly perpendicular to the face and rear, rather than having contour on the z axis
