Summary

Unidentified drones were recently spotted over the US air base in Ramstein, Germany, and facilities belonging to German arms maker Rheinmetall, according to Der Spiegel.

Similar sightings occurred earlier in Brunsbüttel, with some officials suspecting Russian espionage, though no evidence has been confirmed.

The US Air Force stated the Ramstein base experienced “no impacts” and is monitoring the airspace with German authorities.

This follows reports of drone sightings in New Jersey and at UK air bases, which US authorities say do not currently pose a national security threat.

My wife is not into metal, but she took her brother to a Rammstein concert in the 90s and said it was absolutely amazing, so I’m not surprised they’ve incorporated drones into the act.

They also had a bit of a scandal around alleged sexual assault, and coersion of sex from fans semi-recently. Big in German media, probably less so internationally. Great shows, but I’m not willing to give them any more money.
