I took a random call without an ID and all I heard over the phone was some abstract sounds that sounded like a children’s playroom, I just asked “what the hell” once it quieted down and then it crescendoed into frenzied laughter(?) before hanging up???

Eep. Would have freaked me out too. I’ve also received inexplicable missed call recordings that kind of start off muffled (phone in jacket, bag etc ) but then become clearer as the person finds the phone, then ends the call. I thought that could explain the ‘crescendo’ of the laughter becoming louder. But if it’s inorganic, I’m hoping it could be a prank as others here have said
