I thought brave ended up having privacy issues? Is this no longer the case? I just recently switched to ff after being a chrome user for so long (went from FF to chrome long ago)

But, you are correct.
Not necessarily because FF is bad, but because the internet and web standards are often stupid and not privacy friendly.
Webrtc? Great! (But, by default, it leaks your real IP address even with a VPN). WebGL, web GPU, etc. Sketchy not privacy friendly standards
But, again. At least FF allows obfuscation either by fingerprint blocking or masking or other config settings. But… it is tedious. And they change flags and flag names constantly.
FF at least allows you to mod it so you can use it without leaks.
What irks me is all the telemetry. And this new deal they call fog.
And the impossible to get rid of add-ons I never asked for. No, I don’t want screenshots built in. Nor amazon, or google, or eBay, or Normandy or opt out studies
After all the tweaks I make manually (arkenfox user.js is nice, too) it ends up well over a hundred settings to get what I want functionality and privacy wise.
And, yet, it is still the absolute best of the browsers.
(Tor, mull, and librefox as well)

I’m an Android user, but luckily I never really got lost in google’s sauce.
I’m pretty sure I used Chrome early on in my Android days but not for very long.
Currently, and for the foreseeable future, my primary browser on Android is Firefox Nightly and I do run firefox on all my computers (I do use Linux).
I just get slightly better performance with Firefox Nightly then I do sith Fennec.

Didn’t upgrade till my extensions were ported to the new system. That left me vulnerable for a while (security wise)
You mean the amazing update that pulled Firefox into the modern age and made it like 10 times faster? Which made it a viable option against the other browsers?
Having to rewrite a couple of addons really shouldn’t be an issue. They can’t keep all compatibility for the rest of time.

Yikes, it takes about five minutes. Just do it. You can import everything. The themes are so much better.

Some time ago I was tasked with solving some weird Internet Explorer bug. It was the only browser compatible with some governmental web app at the time and the company needed to access it.
When I went online to search for a fix, I encountered plenty of “solutions” saying “just use Chrome bruh” and “Chrome is much better”.
Which didn’t help a thing since Chrome was not compatible, which was also stated in the question.
I feel the same vibe here. I am an avid Firefox user, but saying to just change to Firefox isn’t productive since that isn’t always a possibility.
Fight me but I like how Chrome looks and feels. I also have zero issues with its functionality. Many people here are trying to paint it as if it’s a bad browser but the billions using it tell a different story. The issue with chrome isn’t chrome itself but the company behind it.
Will I switch if they start blocking AdBlock? Yes, but only because of this.
A while back firefox removed some of the features that let me manually handle the cookies I allow and block. It’s not great but I’ll be using Opera for a while.
