Summary

Elon Musk’s aggressive push to control the Treasury payment system is stirring chaos in Washington. His DOGE team now seeks access to trillions in funds.

The move followed career official David Lebryk’s resignation after he refused to provide Musk’s aides the system’s keys. Officials were replaced abruptly.

Critics warn Musk’s control could completely freeze funding for programs like Social Security, Medicaid, and SNAP, endangering working families.

The strategy appears aimed at cutting federal spending and securing corporate tax breaks, though most Americans strongly oppose an unelected billionaire’s interference in government.

I give it a month tops before he catastrophically fucks up and breaks the entire system. Bonus points if the bureaucrats start burning paper documents in small bonfires for catharsis.

Thats why I said a month at most, his incompetent tendencies and his sycophants will break anything more advanced than a potato given enough time.

And Friday, the highest-ranking career official at the Treasury Department, David A. Lebryk, reportedly resigned after refusing to hand Musk’s lackeys the keys

People like this are giving up life long careers to stand up for their principles and what is right.

Luckily, Americans see right through this grift. An AP-NORC poll found that 52% of Americans have an unfavorable view of Musk — and less than a third of Americans approve of DOGE. Americans don’t want an unelected and unaccountable billionaire dictating what working families can and cannot afford. If Musk is going to continue running the government like one of his failed businesses, perhaps someone should force his “resignation” too.

Remind me after social security and Medicare are cut how helpful this poll was.

Yup. People seem to still seem to believe that public opinion will somehow stop these assholes. It won’t, it’ll just get them to sic their fan boys on whatever source is reporting that opinion and push the propaganda more.

Fuck these headlines. Man. We’ve clickbaited ourselves into this mess and these brunch party editors think that means we can clickbait ourselves out. Hell no. It’s time to put up or shut up.

Shit is never going to get better if people keep believing that snarky social media updates and flaccid platitude-filled op-eds from limousine liberals are going to solve the problem.

Amen. They have no grasp of what’s going on. They’re convinced that some West Wing witticism is going to dunk so hard on a fascist reader that it’ll turn the tide. When it inevitably does nothing at all, they’ll think, “Oh well I did what I could” with no self awareness that they did nothing at all.
