It’s finally here, the definitive examination of perhaps the most accomplished piece of radical art in history: Chicken Run.

I don’t think it’s communist per se. The movie is a parody of The Great Escape and similar WWII prison escape sub genre, framed by the chicken farm underlying scenario. In chicken farms, the chickens…get killed dead. If you want to overthink it, then Schlinders List or the Holocaust genre is more apt.
I absolutely LURRRRRRRVE this film.
I’m not sure it’s communist per se, but I’m going to enjoy watching the video and engaging with the work in a new way!
Whether it was intentionally communist I couldn’t say, but authorial intent is overrated, anyway. For example, HBO’s Watchmen can be seen as an accidental critique of liberalism’s shortcomings: BadEmpanada: HBO’s Watchmen and Liberalism: Is a Better World Possible?
