while the suggester sits back and does nothing. I guess it perpetuates the idea that Marxists are armchair philosophers, but it’s just so disingenuous.

Revolution should be the end goal for anyone who would call themselves a leftist. Liberals, if self identified… well, that’s what I expect from them.

You can’t vote in socialism. You probably can’t even peacefully dismantle a system like the US government built upon war. Believing otherwise would make someone naive or stupid (or afraid to voice their opinion).

This doesn’t mean everyone who isn’t “fed posting” isn’t a leftist. Clearly there’s a realistic aspect to when and where to hope to spark revolutions. Hoping for one in current year in the US, for example, as I see many young people call for (or feds, who knows), would only result in a fascist takeover if anything. In any case you will be dead.

So that’s the balance in mind all the time. Chance of successfully sparking a revolution and the chance the of the people siding with the correct side and the casualties expected if it’s “worth it.”

But like I said, every socialist, communist, Marxist of any type has to understand that revolution is the only means by which capitalism will be ended for good. It’s up to capitalists how bloody the revolution(s) will be.
