while the suggester sits back and does nothing. I guess it perpetuates the idea that Marxists are armchair philosophers, but it’s just so disingenuous.
The old world has to die so that a new one can be born. Change is painful, but stagnation is death.
Leftists who still have faith in the current global order are disappointing. I don’t know why you expect anything from liberals, though. Liberals are, for all intents and purposes, guardians of the status quo. Some of them might support things like minor reforms, but ‘actual’ leftists and self-proclaimed liberals operate in different realities.
Change is painful, but stagnation is death.
Neoliberalism, as an ongoing force for stagnation and maintaining the unipolar “win” state of the post-Soviet 90s, is therefore a death cult.
What bothers me is when they do this and in the next breath deify the Founding Fathers for doing the exact same thing they just poo-poo’d
Word. Every revolution is good except ones that happened in specific countries between 1915-1987, and the next one.
While most of them are unironically cheering on Israels genocide campaign in the same breath.
The only way for a radical change is revolution, but unfortunately revolutions require more than one person
I’m an armchair philosopher only because you refuse to pick up a weapon
“Well frank if you believe in revolution so much why don’t you do something ”
Like dear liberal, i can’t even get you to come to a freaking protest rally, and you’re telling me i have to go do a stoachstic trrr or i’m a hypocrit? Ffs
Stoat-tastic terror
A revolution is probably the only way to put a stop to the countless deaths that happen daily that are directly attributable to basic needs being gatekept beyond a for-profit distribution model. Every person who dies because they can’t afford medical treatment is a victim of capitalism. Every person killed by exposure because they can’t afford shelter is likewise such a victim. They would gladly let these deaths continue on and on so long as their own hands are clean, and they can continue being good little boys and girls (the highest aspiration of every liberal) without having to change anything about their beliefs or actions or even consumption choices.
People are already fucking dying.
Death is the only “solution” capitalism have for poverty
They require education in the fact that we don’t come for the violence, the violence comes for us.
A lotta people don’t want to fight for a better future world and it shows
I think a lot of people implicitly, maybe unconsciously believe in the end of history and don’t actually believe things can be better.
Ugh probably right
I’d love to introduce you to some people in my org
Libs gonna lib, but I wonder if some of these people are conflating adventurism with revolution?
Have you considered that I’m a big pampered coward doing OK in this disgusting cruel system? Obviously not, you only think about yourself!
Revolution should be the end goal for anyone who would call themselves a leftist. Liberals, if self identified… well, that’s what I expect from them.
You can’t vote in socialism. You probably can’t even peacefully dismantle a system like the US government built upon war. Believing otherwise would make someone naive or stupid (or afraid to voice their opinion).
This doesn’t mean everyone who isn’t “fed posting” isn’t a leftist. Clearly there’s a realistic aspect to when and where to hope to spark revolutions. Hoping for one in current year in the US, for example, as I see many young people call for (or feds, who knows), would only result in a fascist takeover if anything. In any case you will be dead.
So that’s the balance in mind all the time. Chance of successfully sparking a revolution and the chance the of the people siding with the correct side and the casualties expected if it’s “worth it.”
But like I said, every socialist, communist, Marxist of any type has to understand that revolution is the only means by which capitalism will be ended for good. It’s up to capitalists how bloody the revolution(s) will be.
I mean both successful armed revolution and and peaceful democratic implementation of socialism seemed incredibly improbable in the west in the near future, so it’s not exactly a surprise that when given the choice between two unlikely scenarios some prefer the one full of butterflies and rainbows and not protest massacres.

I don’t think anyone doing that is a leftist. They can call themselves whatever but they’re not
It’s usually projection
