Hi who here is a programmer, either professional or maybe learning for free in their own time?

I spent an hour trying to troubleshoot a hello world example without success the other day so I’m pretty much halfway there

Not a programmer but a long time BA and Data Analyst. I work alongside programmers and while I enjoy the problem solving aspects, I hate keeping up with specific tech.

I have to understand what I’m talking about conceptually, but get to say things like ‘implement an API’ or ‘Manifest version 3’ while letting someone else put it into practice

I’ve been learning for free in my own time for the last… 5 years now. So I something about coding, but probably not enough.

I’m an active professional and hobby dev. 30 years professional, forever hobby. I’ve done everything from cobol, power builder, Java, .NET, C++, Rust, embedded, web, fat client, all databases, cloud, devops, etc.

I currently work fulltime on Solana decentralized finance applications but have been in other sectors such as tradfi, advertising, retail, commodities, utility.

Makes me feel old to type all that, but I’ve got a lot of wisdom on the topic and always happy to share!
