Because it’s from last year and not this year. And as they write at the beginning, they can’t compare between years, as the weather isn’t the same

Seems they didn’t test the plaid this year, probably because they tested the new ones and not test every EV, every year again?
Have you even read the article, where they explain why this isn’t comparable to last year?

Although would be nice to know, if batteries got better and with that to include last years winner as a reference

Yes, I read the article. They crowned a “surprising champion”. But since they don’t bother testing last year’s champion, it’s quite possible the real champion hasn’t changed. Of course, reporting “same champion as last year” is not a surprise and doesn’t get as many readers.

For someone who actually wants the EV with the best winter range this article is useless at best, clickbait at worst.

It’s almost like it would be hard to test every single product on the market every year, so since they tested one sample of the market last year maybe this year they should test a different sample?

It’s not like the Model S has changed much since last year. If you are actually shopping for a car, then you have all of the information you need.

I don’t want them to test every single car every year. But if they are going to test some cars twice in a row - and they did - then one of those cars should be the best one from last year. Especially since they explicitly pointed out that results from last year cannot be compared to those from this year.

If they fail to test the previous champion, then their claim of a “new champion” is meaningless.

Yeah, would have liked to see at least last years champ as well in the comparison, with a newly done test
