Whenever I encounter someone complaining about “spoiled athletes demanding more money” I always ask them how much they think the owner is making.
It never fails that their brain kind of shuts off for a second before rebooting and realizing that one owner is easily raking in what ten or twelve top-tier players make per year.
Owners have never been your friend. That shit MIGHT have been applicable when the owner was the local used car magnate and said used car was a Model T. It hasn’t been the case in my lifetime, or likely anyone reading this.
This is what happens when you allow absolute pedants to make calls. Between this and the idiot calls about home plate “blocking” it’s clear someone in NY is more concerned with rulebook masturbation than they are with making sense.
Every single ump needs to be fired as a warning to the new hires.
Here in Texas you’ll see job posts from one clearly triggered right-wing small business owner paying $7.25 an hour, talking about how if you’re working there you’re WORKING there followed by a list of like 400 things you’ll be doing.
This will be next to a job post from an actually sane individual that’s paying more than twice as much for 1/4th of the effort, and you’re still being overworked.
They don’t want employees, they want indentured servants.
It’s funny how Linux is only Linux if it benefits Linux nerds but the moment someone points out that Android, Chrome, Steam Deck, anything with telemetry and Linux has telemetry all of a sudden it’s not “really Linux” anymore.
