It’s psychotic that people are seriously harassing real life people for things their characters are doing. Legitimately speaking, would they prefer if scripts tiptoed around such characters and simply made them act irrationally and in support of say for example Walter White? Perhaps they’d rather the character talk to a blank spot and everyone pretend there’s someone there, except these same losers would probably then start trying to email the ether.
Honestly I never understood the hate she got; Walter was working with literal psychopaths and she had (two?) children to keep safe. Did people really just see themselves in Walter to this extent and considered her a nag? She was the most sane person in the family and the only thing she did wrong was not cutting Walter out completely.
Also all this aside, it’s unbelievable that people are seriously getting upset with an actress over the events in a TV show.

Kind of embarrassing for Saudi Arabia given that in 1974 we’d already committed mass slaughters in Korea and Vietnam (also Laos and Cambodia) only recently in the millions. Saudi Arabia isn’t anywhere near as evil, but the propaganda certainly makes it seem so.

I used to think this was utterly lame when I was younger, then I began to notice not many of the characters I read had particularly strong personalities. I much prefer characters I can’t see myself in because just like in real life you’ll have people who are majorly different to you especially in motive.
Whaaaaaat? You don’t want a sci fi author to be like “this is Eric; he has black hair and is tall, this is his buddy Paul, he’s muscular but of average height, this is Alice, she is also tall with almond eyes and has gigantic gazongas”
To be fair, they’re not including the percentage of under-30’s who aren’t voting (unless it’s 1%).

Something libs genuinely can’t grasp is that many people will vote for what they want, not for damage control. It takes effort to go and vote, and in some places it’s deliberately made even harder; not everyone is going to put themselves through that to vote for someone they don’t want just because they dislike him slightly less than the other guy.
Remember when we all thought democracy meant we could have any leader we wanted, rather than a choice between a slightly slowed progression into the abyss vs diving headfirst into it?
The lib I work with…in the same sitting he’ll tell me that no you can’t have what you want, realistically it’ll be this guy or the other guy, and then when I tell him we don’t have a democracy we have a monarchy with a choice between two political dynasties he’ll insist on ‘but what if the people want someone else’. He can somehow comfortably believe in two entirely opposing beliefs.
I’ve heard that among the fears of colonizers (like what the white population of South Africa were like) is that their victims will enact the same brutality on them, so why the hell are you trying to be as horrifically evil as you can.
A reminder: the former terrorist groups the haganah, irgun and lehi brigade literally became the IDF. I’m reminded of what I’ve heard regarding our troops’ actions in Iraq (Afghanistan?) where they would literally rape little boys in front of female prisoners; I believe this was either recounted by a famous reporter (I can’t recall his name), or by someone who was tortured at Abu Ghraib and said the photo of the man in the black hood could’ve been him (he can’t tell as the man has a hood in the photo). The latter did however also speak about male prisoners (maybe even the young boys I mentioned) being raped, the reporter in the former was saying that inevitably the truth of the horrors in the prisons over there was going to come out.
Meanwhile I have to read the opinions of a bunch of losers on twitter about how really it’s Russia that’s the real bad guys and we need to do something about them. The global South really is just a playground for Western removed.

Speaking of, I’m reminded of a journalist who spoke about (our) troops opening fire on vehicles that got too close in Iraq (and she was showing videos of the murders) getting death and rape threats for talking about it. People in the Middle East speed, and no warning shots were even made (these are also civilian streets with other civilian vehicles on the road), instead just opening fire into the driver’s seat.
