For shame, I recently did something like this, but only because a/ I have been programming for 3 weeks and b/ told chat gpt to edit my code. Either way, we both failed. Use arrays people!

Hard agree, I’m here for information, not to see how much karma a user has, plus I feel karma systems encourage bots. If a karma system is introduced, I will leave for a platform that doesn’t have that kind of karma thing
Can you expand on this please, what is it, and what does it do?
Same here, I tried a heap of Reddit apps, and RIF nailed the GUI down, and made reading a pleasure, you could browse for hrs, then go for more hrs, it was just perfect.
Yep, this is the difference, on Reddit, you would get a response from bots and trolls all the time. Sure there were some subreddits where heavy moderation fixed it, but in over a decade at Reddit, I only found 3 communities like that.
The upshot of that was I stopped posting on Reddit, but here it feels different and more welcoming. I know it won’t always be like this, but just now it feels like something new, untainted, and more importantly, wants to improve the experience for its users…unlike that bellend spez.
Same, had to install another Lemmy app after Jerboa effed up this morning, Liftoff is quite nice, definitely usable and worth the install.
Nice spot, was looking for something android - for anyone else requiring a mobile solution, Jerboa is worth looking at.
I tried to subscribe their, but it says I’m not logged in, and I have a feeling I’m not grasping how this works. I assumed because I am logged in on lemmy.world that when I click subscribe I was already logged in, but apparently not. Am I supposed to create a new account for each instance or each subscription or is there another way to do this?
