I’m probably too late to offer much help with your post, but I wanted to check in with you to see if you would provide an update.

Did you get more hours or change careers to a better opportunity? Good news for HVAC is that summer is coming quickly to California.

I hope you are doing well and in a better place mentally and financially.

  • The way you are feeling is perfectly normal and I’m sure you will be a great dad.

General worrying is fine and it seems like you have a good grasp of what to expect.

Is having kids easy? No. Is it worth it? Yes. I wish I could tell you newborns were easy, but they weren’t (for me anyway). They can’t talk or move, they typically don’t sleep for long periods of time, need to be fed or changed constantly. The good news is that they are adorable and you will hopefully enjoy them anyway (some parents actually prefer this stage the best).

I prefer the toddler phase better, when they start to develop, move, talk, and play.

Remember that it’s OK to not be perfect, just be there for your family and try to enjoy the time. It’s over a lot quicker than it seems.

  • Sorry this reply is late, just found this sub.

The simplest answer I have is to just show up. Don’t wait to become “perfect” or “better” or whatever else you may be waiting for, just start being there. It’s been said that the biggest gift you can give your kids is your time, so be generous with that gift.

Another thing that I try to do is to just enjoy and appreciate my family. Remind your partner how good they are doing and try to avoid criticism whenever possible.

Driving on sand can be tricky for any vehicle and it seems like the drivers wasn’t skilled in this. I’m all for dumping on Cybertrucks, but this seems like the driver is more to blame in this situation.

    From the article:

The operator - whose identity is unknown - was described as “super nice…Just a first-timer who made the standard mistakes.”
