  • Smallish news that happened over the weekend

An austrian nazi (Martin Sellner) was arrested in switzerland basically he was already banned in the country for you know being a nazi, decided to come here anyways to say some nazi stuff and got arrested. I thought that since he could do it in austria and germany he’d get away with it but I guess not.

I’m guessing he thought it play out the same as it did in germany where he was banned from the country, came in anyways and their government retroactively lifted the ban.

    Edit:

Actually since theres some new news about this now the guy got got in the dumbest way ever, he wanted to protest being not allowed in and wanted to do a whole photo shoot of him shaking the hands of some nazis across the border but he got the whole thing wrong and he stood on the swiss side the whole time. Double irony he did it near the ‘Nazifence’ so…

He’ll probably do the whole ‘I didn’t know I’m just a smol bean’ and since he’s austrian he’ll probably get away with a fine but oh man just the dumbest guy imaginable.

  • Wikipedia has some good pages and some horrifically bad pages, we all know the one where some american teen made all the scots pages even though he literally didn’t speak a word of scots but there’s tons of other pages that are questionable at best and wrong at worst. The main contributors after decades are still like 80% men and most of them are in a STEM field which again shows in pages that go outside of that narrow niche. I at one point edited some wiki pages myself and you’ll literally have some guy do a fucking edit war because he thinks Somatotypes are real and you have to fight for months because you don’t have the clout of a math nerd.

And this isn’t even looking at the serious Nazi problem wiki has.

Wikipedia had decades to get their act together, they didn’t I doubt they will anytime in the future because of how their whole shitty system works.

Edit: To double down their reviewers are also shitty STEMlords who often have no qualifications but think they do, again look at any philosophy page which is just laughable. Everyone is always walking around on eggshells when it comes to how shitty some sections of wikipedia are which has resulted in festering puss filled wounds that glorify nazis and since it’s on wikipedia well then it has some credibility to it.

  • Other vote news from switzerland

There were two iniatives people voted on:

    Biodiversity:

    Yes 37.0% vs 63.0% No

Biodiversity has gone down over the last decade a ton so the state already has some new measures but according to the ones who proposed this initiative it wasn’t going far enough and they wanted some additional laws and to double the budget for protecting Biodiversity. Why was it reject this much? The No camp campaigned on two major pillars, food insecurity and energy insecurity, No basically said that a ton of farms would have to close and switzerland would have to rely on foreign food imports even more and energy companies said that it’d have made new energy installations, even renewables, very hard to build. I’m personally not surprised by the outcome the proposal wasn’t very well written although I agree with the general points.

    Pension Reforms:

    Yes 32.9% vs 67.1% No

Honestly this is kind of all over the news with media mocking the FDP (market liberals) and GLP (green market liberals) today. So for the past 2 years the FDP has been trying to box through pension reforms aka work longer for less money this third one is the largest no their initiatives have gotten and it’s fun seeing the NO grow larger and larger, huge L for neoliberals big W for left and unions who told them to fuck off and try again, also double L for neoliberals because a few months earlier people voted for a 13th pension payment and against their ‘raise the retirement age’ so now the SP and unions are thinking about actually reforming pensions aka making them better not worse. Also huge not a single canton (basically states) voted yes and the only places that even voted more yes than no are municipalities that are famous for having a ton of rich people even being called the ‘Goldcoast’

  • Did you read anything? The value is looking at the considerable shift in voters, in this case 10%, from last election cycle. Use it to make an educated guess that we will also see a shift in other states more than likely it is not as drastic as 10% but it means that the dems are going to do much weaker than they did in 2020 and if they do shitty enough Trump might actually win this. Harris doesn’t actually have a sizable lead again this is NY one of the dem strongholds, she is supposed to do much better, Trump polling better would mean a total sweep across the country. It’s obvious that Israels actions are supported by the Biden government and Kamala is part of that government it something thing that is depressing dem voter turn out which helps Trump because his base doesn’t care about that the hotter the conflict the lower dem turnout while rep turnout stays the same. Again, Israel does matter across the country does that mean NY is going to flip from blue to red? Of course not and that’s not what I’m saying.

  • In the annals of this present era, when Heaven’s favor once bestowed upon the Empress of the European Realms, Ursula von der Leyen, now appears to wane, the signs of discord multiply in alarming fashion. Not since the distant days when rulers were cast from their thrones by the wrath of nature have the rivers of Europe surged so violently. The floods that have swept across the lands, from Austria to Hungary to Poland, have wrought devastation.

These torrents, swollen with the rains of Heaven, have overwhelmed the great rivers—the Danube, the Morava, and beyond—bursting their banks, as if in a dire warning. Villages lay submerged, and cities were brought to their knees by waters that left most of their homes underwater. Bridges, those vital arteries of the realm, have collapsed, and the call for a state of natural disaster echoes across the land.

Surely, this is more than a mere misfortune; it is a sign from the Heavens. The Empress von der Leyen, though resolute in her proclamations of European solidarity, has lost the sacred Mandate of Heaven. Even now, the rulers of the East and the West scramble in panic. The governor of the hungarian province Viktor Orbán, was compelled to abandon his parliamentary duties and the teutonic general Olaf Scholz schemes the downfall by marching his army on the prohibitively expensive city of Brussels the seat of the Empresses power. In these omens, it is clear: Nature herself cries out, demanding a renewal of leadership that may once again align with the will of Heaven

The Empress, once entrusted with the sacred duty to guide her people, now finds herself beset by calamity on all sides, for the favor of Heaven does not waver lightly, and the storms above reflect the discontent below. As the rivers of Europe rage, drowning cities and villages alike, it is not only the Empress von der Leyen who must look to the heavens in fear of her fate. In these times of great upheaval, the court of Europe is rife with whispers of challengers, each seeking to seize the Mandate of Heaven and bring forth a new era of rule.

Reporting from the Red Turban headquarters planning the fall of the EU Sky and the rise of a red one, there will be prosperity under the heavens.
