That’s weird, I have never experienced any crash/problems with the app.
What i was saying with load times is that sometimes instance gets ratelimited by YT but with newpipe you are not using proxy, so probably not going to get rate limited that fast.
Still in beta. Wouldn’t recommend. (I use it but its a pain)
Why is it a pain? I’ve used it for some time and it just does the job.

Its unstable and only works half the the time.

Good option if you want to make use of Piped as a proxy though
