    They want to focus on their own IP. I haven’t heard any new IP coming out of EA in a long time. All of their franchises are stagnant and have been for years. How about instead of laying off those people, invest in them by developing a completely new IP and give them something cool to work on.

    Oh but that takes money, effort, and vision to do so. Much easier to just lay them all off to make the Q1 financials look good.

      I would love for them to revive Anthem, maybe make Anthem 2.

      It’s crazy to me that they had such a banger of an idea and just dropped it.

        It didn’t see immediate returns. They don’t have the long term focus in management to stick with something that isn’t printing money.

    This isn’t uncommon in games traditionally, but I kinda thought those days were over.

    The last six months have been pretty bad for gaming employee layoffs.
