Good. I mean i hope it’s good. Hopefully this deters people from pre-orders and early access, which then reduces the amount of unfinished shit games being released.

Ive been a “GOTY only” gamer for years. I don’t consider a game as “out” until theyve been released for a few months. I’m not super cool or anything, just very careful with my money and i personally capital letter HATE the concept of early access

I don’t mind early access when it’s done properly by a competent transparent dev. There are many many cases it being abused though and I’ll generally only buy an early access game if I really trust the developers.

I get you there, and i would love to hear your experiences on an early access game(s). Was it fun to be part of the process?

But I’m talking more about AAA releases and how so, so many of them come out as unfinished messes at worst, (Batman, no man’s sky) or at best, long wait times and crashing connections. Even if the game is fantastic on release (say witcher 3? Elden ring?) I know they had problems too) it will have DLC, and if the game is good, i want that too.

But enough about me, i would actually like to hear what i asked earlier. Also, any developers i should follow?

Yeah I usually wait for sales/reviews/patches etc to play the better version of the game, especially for AAA releases. It depends on the type of game as well for early access, I had a lot of fun playing Hades and Dead Cells before the full release and I’ll be buying Hades II as soon as they let me (I played the technical test and it’s going to be great). I think those being roguelites helps as opposed to something like a long RPG; I wouldn’t want to replay a 200 hour jrpg to see the changes they added in act 2 but with roguelites that’s just how you play the game already.
