It is good for privacy but also has the nifty feature of not sucking and being reliable. It is so much better that Teams and my audio works reliability.

You just happen to be lucky. It’s not super reliable in less than ideal situations, but I expect it to improve.

Jitsi has also been pivoting to a similar setup. They are masters at SIP and voice handling, and it’s still iffy at best.

It was unreliable but now it works fine. I can’t really say for certain how it will work for as setups vary but for me it was a life saver as teams and Jitsi weren’t working

I found it marginal. Jitsi is nice but I didn’t attempt self hosting, which looks like effort. Currently playing with Jami.

I mean you need to host it somehow. Compare that to Jitsi where you can use someone else’s instance

I love Nextcloud Talk, but my biggest annoyance with it is that text chats don’t properly scroll to the bottom when new messages come in.

Does it work in Windows/Chrome? I have tried to make a call with a frend but it would not show Video/audio in his side. It has worked from Firefox to Androidapp for me in the past
