I definitely have great recovery in my 40s and I attribute it to the low inflammation whole food plant based diet. I lived on the 5th floor with no elevator and I packed up my van with boxes and moved across the US and recovered just fine after running up and down more times than I can count. I don’t think if I were eating a standard american diet I would have been able to do it without movers lol
In the book Raw Power, the author who is a professional weight lifter claims he got stronger after eating a raw diet (which is almost entirely vegan by necessity)
I had the same effect when I was lifting. Switching to a raw diet, I could do more reps with more weight. This was without my muscles growing at all. They didn’t get bigger they just got more effective.
I was drinking raw milk, but everything else was vegan.
