How do you see this mod reasoning for banning? An ask lemmy Q came across my feed and someone said basically “thanks to the PRC, in our lifetimes we will see manned missions to mars, fusion energy” yadda yadda yadda china will usher in utopia nonsense. I basically said, “lol WTF are you on about” and got banned. That’s when I noticed it was a .ml community. The mod response (I believe) said “go back to Reddit.”

Some true tankie shit. I wanted to see a record of the interaction and the mod reasoning for deleting the comment and (I believe) banning me.

It’s just on the mod log. It may vary by instance. The one showing the reason in this post is lemmy.ml’s modlog, the one showing the mod’s name is kbin.earth’s

Oh hey, it’s Yog. He’s one of my favourite tankies. He looooves russia! That includes modern Russia. Hates gay people, trans, and Muslims, despises them, and loves Putin and his hypercapitalist oligarchy.

The strangest thing is that he’s not Russian at all lol. He’s just obsessed with it, like… unhealthily, dating back almost a decade. Definitely one of the weirder ones.

also in the future, I recommend using lemmy’s own image storage or imgchest. Imgur doesn’t embed and is generally really scummy.

Yog has a weird sense of humor. I suppose it is funny to tankies but for everyone else it just is weird.

Also the tankie community tends to idolize him for some unknown reason.

It’s because he posts about 25-50 posts a day, everyday, nonstop for… oh man… ages.

My image host of choice was imgbb until I found out that pics from there are automatically blocked on a lot of the fediverse because it was being used for CSAM. I’m not on lemmy though, so would using lemmy’s hosting actually work?

Just link to the image directly so it’s embedded, rather than linking to a website that embeds the image but also lots of other stuff

    They’re pathetic.

    Just look at @[email protected]

Dude has several profiles which all deny Russia having done anything wrong, say Uighur genocide isn’t happening and yet pretends they’re not pro-Russian, while actively avoiding answering any questions, mainly “are you pro-Russian”.

Literally denies that Russia even has propagnda.

    It’s genuinely ridiculous.

Well reasoned arguments. Sure would be nice if they’d have enough spine over there to try to rebut your actual points but that would make the acoustics less conductive to echos

The factual support for the ideology that forms their entire identity is thin and fragile as their ego.

Funnily enough, the person I was talking to actually was a mod of the community (and also OP of the post), but for all of their directly-from-the-Kremlin lines they weren’t the one that deleted all of the dissent in the comments. So, uhh… credit to that mod, I guess?
