To top it all off, Shadows’ EULA also includes a provision that allows the game to monitor your PC’s RAM to ensure you’re not running any unauthorized programs like macros, cheats, or hacks, a well-intentioned clause that nonetheless feels a touch out of place in a single-player game and could potentially scare off some of the more suspicious players who aren’t comfortable with their hardware being monitored.

For a single player game by the way

What the actual fuck? Is this game some kinda developer revolt? Are they trying to sink the studio?

all this to protect people from pirating buggy slop that’ll be notoriously broken on day one.

Weren’t they supposed to be in damage control mode after the broken Torii gate incident? Why are they trying to make Ghost of Yotei stronger? Are they stupid?

I thought they did and that was one of the reasons Windows updates where breaking their games, but might have been a mistake on my part. Denuvo and mandatory Ubi link have been their standard for quite some time at least.

Maybe, I have no idea… I do think we would have heard about it if it was in mirage for example.

Yeah, FitGirl it’s just a repacker not a cracker. All they do is compress the cracked game and make an easy to use installer, DODI also does the same thing.

Probably thinking of Empress. The most recent Denuvo game to be cracked was Dead Island 2, which is a year and a half ago. And if we don’t count Empress or MKDEV*, (because it’s reasonable to assume they aren’t going to want to crack this), then it’s eFootball in 2020: 4 years ago.

*MKDEV used to only crack Football Manager, as to allow modding. Football Manager now allows a method for MKDEV’s mod to run without removing Denuvo.

What’s well intentioned about not letting me use Cheat Engine on my own game. I’m not interacting with anyone else, I can’t ruin the game’s economy, or make people’s PvP experience worse. The worst thing I could do is make my own experience worse. They’re even including macro’s in that – A wide-spread accessibility feature.

I already bought the game, what incentive is there to make sure I can’t enjoy it?
