We never see him anymore. Is he ok? Did diabetes get him?
He made enough money from voicing Mater in “Cars” and its sequels that he doesn’t really ever need to work anymore. He talks about it in an interview and he actually tears up at how kind John Lasseter was.
David Cross wrote an open letter to Larry at the height of his career. It’s too long for Lemmy to paste it in, but here’s a link to it.

What an unmissable sign-off line
What a wonderful read.
They found out he was a fake-ass redneck and threw him out of America!
Nah, he’s still around, we’re really gullible.
Lol, I only know enough about him to think of him as a meme
That guy got popular around the same time as “Carlos Mencia” aka Ned Holness (a white American guy who pretended to be a Mexican and also stole lots of jokes).
Edit: Ok, he apparently had some Honduran ancestry, but that doesn’t really make it any better.
Carlos Mencia is not white lol. He’s not Mexican though, that’s for sure. A quick search says Honduras descent.
I read it was German lol, either way he was a fake as fuck joke thief.
Agreed, he was a shit comic
Don’t really care about Larry, Ron White was the only funny one
Eh. Larry was often tiresome but he had some really good jokes every once in a while. I didn’t care much for Engvall. Foxworthy had the occasional zinger too. Ron White was funny as hell though.
I loved the way he blended his comedy into pseudo-lectures. Very dry, unlike his liver
I forgot all about Engvall, but I agree. Larry and Foxworthy got old for me. White’s bit on homophobia is one of my favorites.
I’m at an age where I know who the guy is but don’t know much of his work. No clue who Ron White is, only reason Larry came to mind for me is this clip that isn’t even him https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=l9Jblh5ssrw
You may know him as “Tater Salad”
I feel like there’s a reference here I’m not getting. If you’d give a link I’m sure it’s worth a click
Tater Salad starts around 3:50, but the whole bit is worth a watch if you have time.
's gonna be a good day, tater
He runs commercials for his Sirius xm show all the time so unfortunately no, he is still around.
He has a Sirius XM show? Wild, never thought I’d see the day
Yeah him and Jeff Foxworthy. It sounds like something you put on when you’re going on a date with your sister from the ads.
Good to know! My sister and I can never agree on what to listen to.
Roll tide!
I love this guys shorts.
I will never not upvote this response when I see it.
